Spain Wins Over Luxembourg, Costa Makes His 1st International Goal

Spain has mightily taken over Luxembourg with a great 4-0 score in the Euro 2016 qualifying match which displayed great showmanship from the Spanish armada. The match is also important for being the game that marked the 1st international goal from Diego Costa.

The 4 goals were netted by Silva in the 27th minute, Alcacer in the 42nd minute, Costa in the 69th minute & Bernat in the 88th minute. No Spanish striker had ever needed so long for getting onto his 1st international goal yet Costa has finally achieved it- getting off mark for the adopted nation post 515 minutes while being in the prestigious red jersey.

The match saw the Chelsea man toiling for seventy frustrating minutes after one tragic miss – yet not burying even a solo chance. Many though that the top scorer of premier League was about to continue by saving every goal for his famous club Chelsea yet the bright player soon opened up his much awaited international goal account with his scrappy 2nd half-goal amidst shower at Stade Barthel.

Fernando took simply 2 minutes to come off mark for the Spanish team, the iconic Alfredo Stefano achieved that within 47 minutes, erstwhile Manchester City player Negredo did that within 77 minutes & Spain’s all-time lead scorer, the phenomenal David Villa within 210 minutes & Fernando Torres within 220 minutes.

Diego almost started to share resemblances with Torres in the player’s worst days in his club Chelsea & he had even drawn blanks within his short dalliance with Brazil national football squad, unable to score at 2 friendlies.
However, Costa’s first international goal was received with huge applause from his team-mates and he was found merrily mobbed by fellow mates, after he finally was able to break the duck.
